Hartford Sports and Recreation and the Parker Memorial Community Center are thrilled to invite the community to our upcoming All Ages Ping Pong Tournament. Whether you are a seasoned pro or just looking for a fun afternoon, come show off your skills or cheer on your neighbors!
This event is completely free for both participants and spectators. Every player goes home with a participation ribbon, and prizes will be awarded to the finalists in each category!
*CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 8 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN.
Tournament guide lines
Here’s how it works:
Individuals must sign-up in advance on the website https://hartfordct.myrec.com/
Or, in-person at the Parker Center front desk (open Mon - Fri, 10am - 8pm; Sat. 12 noon - 4pm)
Registration deadline is WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 7th
Details:
Tournament will be single-elimination, “bracket-style” play:
Players will advance one game at a time, until there are Finalists in each category.
Categories will be same-sex (boys - girls - men - women) and will be sub-divided as:
Boys/Girls 8 - 11 years of age, Boys/Girls 12 - 16, Men/Women over 16
Matches will be tournament-style: one game to 11, win by 2; serves rotate every two points.
Tournament rules will be distributed to all participants and on display during the tourney.
Referees will be on hand for each match. Any call made by a Ref is considered final.
* Proper Sportsmanship is a MUST! Vulgar language and/or behavior on the part of ANY player means INSTANT disqualification and forfeiture of that match. *
* PRIZES will be awarded to the finalists in each category; and ALL who participate go home with a ribbon!
